Henley

January 31, 2023

Almost all of the construction industry shut up shop for the Xmas break, building works on my site were no different. Henley ceased work for the year around December 20th last year and the break lasted until January 16th this year. Needless to say there is little progress to report this month, but what progress there was is reported below.

All  scaffolding has been removed from the house and the rendering has been painted to it’s final color. Most of the work outside the house is complete. As far as I can tell, the only remaining items are the installation of the hot water unit, the outdoor aircon unit, and a little painting to the front facade.

Despite the construction industry shutdown there was a little bit of progress made inside the house. The last of the tiling was completed,  the bath installed and all of the tapware has been fitted, though there does appear to have been a screw up with the color of some of the taps. Hopefully that gets sorted.

All doors have been hung, with final handles and locks fitted throughout. As I was conducting an owners inspection on Australia Day there was 2 electricians fitting the range hood in the kitchen and the exhaust fans in the bathrooms, along with the final terminations to the switchboard.

To my untrained eye, it appears that the only major job left to do is to fit the flooring and the roller doors in the garage. If all goes well the project may complete in February.
